Starla Blue and the Waffle Hut Murder

In the mountain town of Nonsense, KY, the people are rarely as they seem. The Laceys have a knack for manipulating emotions, the Dovers are a magnet for animals, and then there’s the Blues who can communicate with the dead—but only through senses, not words, and only while being in touch with their own emotions. No one in Nonsense talks about any of it. Complicated conversations are best avoided.

When seventeen-year-old Starla Blue’s mother was murdered, the flowers all but died with her. Now Starla simply wants to be left alone to squash down all feelings, particularly the guilty ones regarding the murder. Then her medium abilities awaken and she finds Mama’s ghost hanging around The Waffle Hut—the breakfast diner where Starla works.

The hauntings kick up a notch. Mama’s spirit will soon turn into a full-blown haunting, the scary kind with Mama’s soul lost forever, unless Starla can find the killer. But first, she’ll have to solve a current missing child case entwined with the murder and embrace emotions she’d much rather ignore. And of course, there’ll be lots of waffles.
